About Us

Lurkers in the Valley is a gaming group that has run live-action role-playing (LARP) games for many years in central Indiana.  A live action role-playing game (LARP) is a form of role-playing game where the participants physically act out their characters' actions. The players pursue goals within a fictional setting represented in the real world, while interacting with each other in character. The outcome of player actions may be mediated by game rules, or determined by consensus among players. The event arrangers are called gamemasters (GMs) or keepers. The GMs/Keepers decide the setting, the rules to be used and facilitate play. Lurkers' Keepers/GMs typically provide an immersive live-action game for 10 to 25 players.

The most frequent genre for Lurkers games is science-fiction/horror using a modified version of the Cthulhu Live, 3rd Edition rules sytems by Robert "Mac" McLaughlin. Cthulhu Live is an acclaimed live-action roleplaying game based on the horror tales of H.P. Lovecraft. However, other live action games are currently "in the works" including the popular murder mystery genre.
